what is a sober glow adventure?

Many things changed when I stopped drinking and the way I traveled was one of them. I no longer wanted to spend my vacation days basking away on a beach chair while drinking rosé all day (or whatever else the swim-up bar was offering) and recovering the next day. I cringe to think about all the vacations I had, only to return home feeling like I needed another vacation. And to think of all the money I spent making memories, only to “forget”.

However, what didn’t change was my sense of adventure. In fact, it expanded. After digging around on the internet for weeks and having zero luck finding what I was looking for, I decided to create it myself.

I have always enjoyed traveling on my own as well as traveling to random ass places. Tourist traps don’t interest me. Relaxing at a pool next to a rowdy obnoxious bachelor party, no longer interests me. All-inclusive travel never once interested me. And lastly, traveling to a luxury resort that caters only to the wealthy while the staff have trouble feeding their families, does not interest me. Traveling as a sober woman has made me acutely aware of my surroundings and there are just situations I no longer tolerate. So what’s a girl to do?

Enter the Sober Glow Adventures.

The places we go are off-the-grid, eco-friendly (if not fully, as close as one can get), and a little bit risqué (as in get your adrenaline going just right). These trips are not for everyone! And you may have already stopped reading. But if you are still here, welcome. Welcome to an adventure of a lifetime. When you tell your friends and family where you are going, they will most likely ask where the hell is that? or why the hell would you go there?

- and that dear reader, is exactly the point. We don’t do basic.

This is where it gets real. I offer these adventurous settings not only to have a once in a lifetime experience but to get women out of their comfort zones. I have witnessed life changing breakthroughs and openings. I have seen women fully commit to an alcohol-free lifestyle after spending time with other women who are already doing it. I have seen women leave situations that are no longer serving them and release years of shame they’ve been carrying around. And I am honored every damn time I witness a woman grow her confidence and faith in herself and her choices. There is so much power when women get a chance to gather without the usual societal masks and share themselves on a deeper and more meaningful level. The magic is indescribable.

What happens on these retreats is nothing shy of revolutionary. But don’t just take my word for it……
